Hi

I'm using 2.6.0 and I noticed that since I upgraded a few months ago from 2.3.8, the "Today's visitors" list has become completely inaccurate. Some of the visitors never show up in this list, while others do immediately.

I set the cache age in the global configuration pannel to 0 but this does not seem to help. Is there a way to fix this ?

Thanks

Today's Visitors is not cached in anyway, some people may not show up because they have turned on "invisible" mode.

But I can see them on the front page when they are connected... Surely they are not invisible.

Then those visitors probably were outside of the 24 hour boundary.

No they are not. We are (almost) all in the same town and I saw it happen 3 times today. I'll make screen grabs when I see it again.

The query that gets today's visitors is extremely simple and is based on last_visit field in the users table, where this field is greater then the timestamp of 12:00am on that day.

Do you have any access restricted forums via the group manager?

I have one "Test" forum in one category where anyone (even anonymous) can post and read.

One forum is only visible to administrators (there are 2 of them).

All the other forums are visible, but only logged in members (students) can read or post into them. I modified the template used on the frontpage to say (in french) "You must be logged in to read this forum", written in red. That's the only customization I made there.

No forum requires a specific password to post if that's what you meant. There are moderators in each forum, but the forum themselves are not moderated strictly speaking (no approval necessary).

My students are main lurkers, they very rarely post, but I can see them on the front page when they come and get files. I can also see what they are doing by clicking "Show what the others are doing". But most of them do not appear in Today's visitors once they are disconnected. Those that do are always the same I think.

And, as I said, it seemed to work well with 2.3.8, as far as I remember.
