I keep getting this error and can't figure out why:

Your WWW_ROOT does not correspond with the SERVER_ROOT path you have specified. (unable to retrive: http://localhost/php/FUDforum2/WWW_ROOT_CHECK, on disk as: C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/php/FUDforum2/WWW_ROOT_CHECK, received data: w/error: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Object Not Found

I can view the install scripts from my browser using that path why won't it work in the script?
Is there a place I can download the source and install manually if I can't get the install script to work?

If you create the C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/php/FUDforum2/WWW_ROOT_CHECK file and then try to access it via http://localhost/php/FUDforum2/WWW_ROOT_CHECK, does it work?

You can downloaded the forum sources from the CVS, however there are no non-installer installation instruction.

That's the problem, what is WWW_ROOT_CHECK is it a folder or a file, if its a file, what type and what is it supposed to contain, I can't view the install.php contents because they seem to be encrypted or I might be able to follow what the code was trying to do and stay a step ahead of it.
Thanks for your help Ilia. Smile

It's supposed to be a regular file.

install.php is a PHP script at the end of the file there are compressed sources of the forum.
