Hey guys,
I'm new to FUDforum and I'm trying to do some things I used to do with phpBB. Right now I've got two questions, based on http://www.supportersworld.nl:

1. How can I create a similiar 'Who is Online' box?
2. How can I put polls on the frontpage in a similar way?

I've been playing a bit with FUDforum and i'm pretty amazed by its cool features and well written code. Currently I'm working on a good way to put my news and forum headlines online (http://www.supportersworld.nl/index2.php).

Cheers, Filip

You can either use the FUD API's fud_fetch_online_users (http://fudforum.org/forum/index.php?t=msg&goto=20560) or you can use the templating system. My page is based on the templating system entirely so as I don't work with the FUD API I could only give you a working example for the templating system. The small code snipplet in the thread I mentioned should give you a base to build on, though.

Putting polls there is a little more tricky.
You could probably use fud_fetch_msg, fud_fetch_poll and fud_update_msg to manually update the poll data but since I've never worked with PHP prototypes before I can't help you with that =\
Another approach would be to directly manipulate the SQL tables yourprefix_poll and yourprefix_poll_opt. Probably less troublesome but I'm not aware of any possible caching/tracking collisions.

Thanks a lot for your help. I've made some progress and the 'Who is online' box is almost done. The only thing about that box that I couldn't find out is how to get the number of guests that are browsing the forum. Do you know how?

Look inside the sessions table for entries where user_id does not match an entry inside the users table.
