Deleting attachment from within a message fails [message #22549]

Dear Ilia,
my forum is 2.6.9. After I edit a message with a file attached, and, say, I want to delete only the attachment but keep the text of the message, I press a link and it seems to go right.

But, when I check in the fudforum_data/files directory, this file is still there, i.e. is not deleted from the disk.
Checking consistency does not help.

How can I solve this? These files eat up space on my web server

Ilia, is there a way to modify a working forum rather than install it from scratch with fixed files? could you give a hint please.

Well, you can wait till the next release and run the upgrade script.

Alternatively you can do one of the following:

Download the patch at the URL I gave, apply it to the affected files and rebuild the forum theme.

OR

Download the full copies of the updated files, via the forum's file manager replace existing files with the modified copies and rebuild the theme.
