Subscribe users to topics/ forums [message #22890]

I would like to subscribe certain users to topics and/or forums. Can I directly insert values into the following tables, or are there other tables that must be changed as well?

fud26_forum_notify (user_id, forum_id)
fud26_thread_notify (user_id, thread_id)

Those two tables are the only ones you need to populate.
