When I added a newsgroup I accidently left the import users set to yes and now have 1000 bogus users.

I have already deleted the newsgroup from the forum. Is it safe to go into the database and just delete these users from fud26_users? One at a time from the members list would take days.

Yeah you can safely remove them from the database by hand, just be sure to run the consistency checker once you do.
