I really like fudforum, but I can't wait any longer for the update to appear in eGroupWare.
So, I thought I'd download the most recent stable release of fudforum and install it.
I copied the extracted folder to my webroot folder and applied the correct permissions. I created a new non-browseable folder area and gave it the correct permissions.
I'm now attempting to run the install.php file. I get step 1 and type in the correct paths.
I click the Next button . . . . and wait . . . . and wait . . . . and wait.
It never moves to Step 2.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks and have a great day!

Which installer did you download, the zlib compressed version or the non-zlib version?
The step you appear to be "stuck" on is the extraction step that involves creating directories based on installer archive, this should take no more then 10-15 seconds.

Well it looks like it was able to create the data files, but not the web files.
Whay values did you specify the 1st step, did both of the directory paths specified were writable by the webserver?

Funny! I went back to get some more information for you and the install.php had finally moved to step 2! I've got it running now and am configuring it.
Thanks for all the very quick help!
Thanks and have a great day!
