One thing I liked about phpBB was one mod in partiqular. Using javascript you where able to post the newest threads in your forum to any webpage you wanted, IE: the forum created a text file of some sort with the information, and by using javascript or even SSI or PHP you where able to see the forum activity from say your main site. I can't imagine this being too difficult to do, but I would really like to see it as I'm sure alot of people would too! (other then synication like rss/xml of course)

Also as a second unrelated idea, I would really like to see some sort of anti-lamer option to prevent users from posting just emoticons or 3 word responces to get their post count up.

If you want forum content outside of the forum you have two possible ways to do it:
1) use forum's XML/RSS feed
2) use FUDAPI to get the data you want directly from the forum's database.

I will vouch for the rss/xml feed. It works as advertised and I use it on my main page. I use it as a php include.
