I am trying to understand how to setup the /files directory. I have read the other information posted here. I have Egroupware up and running with the exception for the Fudforum. I have placed the files directory above the WWW Root. But I am still getting the following error regrading server security.

The 'files/' (/home/httpd/vhosts/acls-online.com/files/) directory exists, however webserver has no write permissions to that directory.

You need to chmod that directory 777, so that the webserver can write to it.

I have chmod that directory to 777, the webserver still will not access it

Are you still getting the same permissions error as before, or did it now change to something else? Do you have safe_mode or open_basedir on your server?

I am still getting this the same error. Yes I have both Safe_mode and open_base available. Both are currently off

Check that parent directories to make sure that they have @ least 711 permissions on them. It is possible that one of the parent directories cannot be opened for reading leading to the error.

Every Directory down has 755 permissions and files has 777
