Finally launched the new FUD forum yesterday. It took almost a full month to convert and transfer the message archives.
I'm getting a very few reports of users having log-in problems. It seems to only affect those who use both the web forum and the mailing list. I'm wondering if there might be a conflict between the user created by the FUD forum from posts made via the mailing list (that option is enabled) and the user data that's been transferred from the old forum.
Here's what one user reports:
1. Goto hummernetworkforums.com
2. I'm not logged in.
3. Click on login
4. Enter nehog (username) and my password. (the login screen has a message that I'm not logged in...)
5. Click login button
6. It takes me back to the main page. In the yellow section, I have welcome nehog, your last visit was on Mon, 06 June 2005 13:04. (so it thinks at this point I'm logged in...)
7. Click on Hummer H1 and HMMWV forum
8. I get the login form again, same "ERROR: you are not logged in" message.
9. Type in nehog and password. Click login button.
10. Back to the main page. Says Welcome nehog, your last visit was on mon 06 June 2005 13:56. (note the different time, which matches the time for step 4 above.
11. Click on Hummer H1 and HMMWV forum.
12. Go to step 7.
Cookies and cache had been deleted.
Use cookies has been checked (tried it both ways yesterday didn't make a difference...)
-----------------------------------------
I'm thinking I might have to delete these users and have them re-register. Would that help? Any other suggestions?
...Bob

Yes, they are confirmed. The problem seems to be related to their passwords. One used the "Forgot my password" option and was sent a new password which worked OK. Again, it's probably a conflict between mailing list users and users of the old web forum when the user data was converted and transferred to the FUD forum. This will iron itself out in time.
The new FUD forum is going over very well! People seem to love it. The launch went very, very well with no major fires to put out. FUD RULES!!!!!!!!
