I set a number of bits on the global page including not having the session variable in the url - I simply dislike having it there *shrugs*

When I go to login into /adm the page simply appears to refresh - no error in terms of username/password and I can log in as admin to the forum itself.

Looking at the code
header('Location: '.$WWW_ROOT.'adm/admglobal.php?S='.$sid.'&SQ='.$new_sq);

The problem appears to be because it is setting the session id in the url or trying to and that it what it is trying to then check.

To untangle myself I simply commented
fud_use('glob.inc', true);

in adm/admglobal.php, and was able to go directly to that page to turn on URL session ids again andthen uncommenting the line again.

Are you sure cookies are working correctly? The only time the forum would care about URl session id is if a cookie is unavailable

Yep cookies are working perfectly - I can only even view the forum with a cookie from a different login system. Plus by being able to log into the forum itself with no url session id I assume it would also be working by cookies.

This has effected me in both Firefox 1.0.4 and IE,unknown version, at work.

Ok....
Can you please give me a step by step series of instructions on how to replicate the problem?

At the bottom are my current settings for everything.

In admglobal.php select NO to Enable URL sessions under Cookie & Session Settings.

Return to the forum or go to /adm or /adm/admloginuser.php

Username & password submit - page appears to simply refresh - the url changes from admloginuser.php to admloginuser.php? but thats it.

No error messages at all come up.

Works fine here... send me a private message with details on how to access the administrative forum account and I'll try to see if the error you reported happens there for me.

I seem to have the same problem. I changed one of those settings and I can't log back into my Admin account. infact nobody can login, the page just seems to refresh and now I can't change my setting back to the default.
