My message board is running version 2.6.8RC1. I have a user on with an OSX operating system running AOL. She will be able to sign in, read one message and then she gets an error that she must be a member to view the page. I do have the forum set so that only registered members can view the forums.
I asked her to clear her cookies and that worked only long enough for her to read one message.
I have no idea what is going on here. Can someone please direct me on how to solve this issue? She isn't the first user who has had this problem with AOL or had a problem with AOL and the forums. Is it some kind issue with the way that browser handles cookies?
I hate AOL.

I have a similar problem with an AOL user running Windows, and FUDforum 2.6.12.
As the problem described above, she can only stay logged in for a few minutes. When she wants to login again, she has to try several times before logging in.
I also think it's a problem with the cookies, and as URL sessions are enabled, I thought she wasn't using cookies to login. But she told me she actually logs in with the "Use Cookies?" option checked, so I thought the only possibility was that the AOL browser was set not to accept cookies. She made sure it would accept cookies for the forum, and it seems she can stay logged in a little bit longer, but she still has to try several times before logging in.
However, she tried with Internet Explorer, and it seems to work properly.

It might the problem with the AOL browser aka (ha|fu)cked IE, is that it uses AOL proxies that tend to lose all sorts of information between requests. This loss is what causes the "cookie" to be invalidated in some cases.
