I am trying to move the hosting website for my forum, and the username is different.

The old site was running FUDforum 2.6.11. I made a forum datadump, and did a mysqldump of the database too.

I did a fresh install of FUDforum 2.6.13 on the new host, which seemed to go fine. The database name is different than the old database name. (Each host appends the username in front of the database name.)

I then imported the forum datadump into the new installation. It took a few minutes, but this also seemed to succeed. The import screen ended, saying 140000 queries executed. I don't know what this number should be.

When I then tried the "return to forum" link, I got
Fatal error: SQL Error has occurred, please contact the administrator of the forum and have them review the forum's SQL query log
Running the sql error log through base64_decode(), I get this:
/home/naaluket/public_html/FUDforum2/index.php:1178
) 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

Server Version: 4.0.24-standard

The old site was also running mySQL 4.0.24

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Is there any more information I can provide?

Sorry, I did get it to work. I did a search on "moving the forum". Embarassed

I tried installing 2.6.11 and importing the datadump, but I still get a mySQL error.

I then removed the database, and used the mysql dump to populate it. I copied the FUDforum directories from the old server and edited the GLOBALS.php file to reflect the new host.

Have you tried accessing the admin control panel and running the consistency checker?

After importing the datadump, I could not access the control panel due to the SQL error.

The other route of importing the mySQL dump, copying the files, and updating GLOBALS.php seems to have worked.

Could be a bug with dump/import process, as of 2.6.14 that code has been completely rewritten and simplified.
