403 Forbidden when posting [message #26679]

My small forum had been working fine for a few months. Now, when posting a new topic the user recieves an error page:

Quote:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /f/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

of course, the rest of the forum directory "/f" is browsable.

i upgraded the forum and the problem persists. php version 4.3.10. any ideas?
