No mailing list functionality since upgrade [message #27344]

Since installing the latest upgrade, version 2.7.2, mailing list messages are not getting posted to the web forum. The crucial file "maillist.php" was over-written by the upgrade and now it does not work. Replacing it with the backup of the pre-upgrade version does not work either. My forum has been seriously broken for 2 days now, and I have not heard back from Ilia.

Can anyone please help???

Has anyone used the uninstall script after an upgrade? Is this an option?

How about installing an earlier version, the last working one, after having installed the upgrade? Would there be files added by the upgrade which would not be added by the older version which would interfere with the forum working? Is this an option?

I'm desperate here.
