Hi

when I create a PDF with the contents of one of my forums, I get the HTML entities that compose the tile of my forum as plain text in the footnote in each PDF page : ' and é

More-or-less related question. I need to put a single quote in the title of my forum (magicquote is on and I cannot change that). I use ' and it's OK, however, if I put \' (like in the french msg file), it appears litterally in the window title. And of course, if I put just the single quote, the page remains blank (I expected that).

More related question : the PDF generation from a forum does not work, I only get a blank page. However, PDF generation from a thread does work.

I looked into the (french) msg file and found a lonely (unescaped) quote. I changed it to \, and when I try to generate PDF from a whole forum, I get these error messages (I was running my test forum from EasyPHP) :

(c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\forum_math\pdf.php:213
c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\forum_math\pdf.php:273
c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\forum_math\pdf.php:1379
) 1146: La table 'forum_math.fud26_tv_' n'existe pas
Query: SELECT seq FROM fud26_tv_ ORDER BY seq DESC LIMIT 1
_GET: array ( 'frm' => '23', 'page' => '1', 'rid' => '206', 'S' => '82d72386c61d39f2c8b23df04250c6be', )
Server Version: 4.1.9-max

However, PDF generation from threads continues to work.

I'll post the fixed msg file in the translations forum.

Regards

Are you using pdf.php.t version 1.49? As far as I can tell version in the CVS has an explicit check to prevent such an error.

No, I have

* $Id: pdf.php.t,v 1.47 2005/08/27 17:13:51 hackie Exp $

My forum recently upgraded from 2.6.0 to 2.7.2 (without trouble Very Happy ), but I didn't modify anything by hand. Is this check new to the 2.7.3Rc1 release ? If so, I'll have to upgrade again.

Would it solve also the thing about HTML entities in the generated PDF ?

No, i haven't done anything about HTML entities. Can you please clarify where precisely do they appear so that I can try to replicate the problem.

My forum's name needs the character "é", so, in the main administration panel, I put é in place of that "é", and all goes fine with the forum itself.

Now, if I read a thread, I can generate printable PDF from it. In the generated PDF, there is a footline that says :

Page 1 of 1 ---- Generated from <name of the forum with é> by FudForum 2.7.2.

This is where the HTML entity for "é" comes literally : I see "é" in there instead of "é".

I'll just PM such a PDF file for you to see.
