"New Topic" links on the forum index would be nice. Currently, users must bring up the thread index for a forum before they can create a new thread.

It would also be nice to have "New Topic" links for forums listed on the Subscriptions page.

I'd prefer to avoid adding a new topic link on the front page simply to avoid making that page filled with too many options. You can certainly do it on your forum by adding the link to the index.tmpl template, but I don't see this being a part of the standard distro.
