Why it isn't possible to use the search options "Search in Forum" and "Filter by user" together? When I want to use them together the "Search in Forum" option is ignored.
I think this would be a nice feature. Smile

You most certainly can do that and it does work. I've just tried it on this forum and it worked perfectly.

Well, it doesn't work for me. Sad
As you can see on the attached screenshot, the found post isn't in the chosen forum.

That's because there are no messages by you in that forum with that text.

Then we take a different example:
We search for posts by you containing "install" in the Announcements forum. There a lot of results that are not in the chosen forum. The first result that matches the options is result number 4 on the second page.

And by the way: Why do you not show that there were no results found, when there are no posts matching the options?

My conclusion is: If I use "Search in Forum" and "Filter by User" together, then "Search in Forum" is ignored.

EDIT: Better example

Do you mean that your result page doesn't look like mine (screenshot attached)?

That's exactly it, when I run the search I ONLY see the results from the selected forum.

I don't understand this. I tested this with various browsers so was quite sure it's the fault of the forum. Rolling Eyes

Am I doing something wrong?

Don't know, all I can tell is that I am unable to replicate the bug in ANY browser. Nor do I see anything inside the code that may have caused it to happen.

This is my last idea:
Is your search query exactly identical to mine?

index.php?t=getfile&id=2422&private=0

This is the URL appearing in my browser's adress bar:
http://fudforum.org/forum/index.php?t=search&srch=install&btn_submi t=Search&field=all&forum_limiter=1&search_logic=AND&sort_or der=DESC&author=Ilia

In my query the login name was "ilia", with that it works fine. However, I use your link I do see the invalid data being displayed.

So, you are correct there was a bug in the system, the following patch takes care of it.

Thank you for the patch, it works fine on my test forum.

P.S. Sorry for my bad example... Rolling Eyes
