Hi,

I am planning to upgrade fudforum and have the following q's please:

1- I saw there is already an upgrade.php in WWW_SERVER_ROOT; do
I simply replace it with the one I got from FUDforum_upgrade_zl_2-7-5.tar file?

2- The upgrade instructions say using your web browser run upgrade.php; how do I do this step? from where exactly?

I'd appreciate it if you could clarify the upgrade instructions.

Thanks very much.

You need to extract upgrade.php from the archive you've download and the access it via the web browser.

Well, you simply to the URl where the upgrade.php script can found, if you put it inside the forum's directory it'll be inside http://www.yourforum/url/upgrade.php

If the upgrade does not work can I go back to the older revision?
How can I do it?

Thanks for your support!

First, to upgrade the forum you must place the "upgrade.php" script in the web root of your forum. That is, if your forum is at http://www.example.com/forum/ you would place it in the directory that servers example.com/forum and access it by http://www.example.com/forum/upgrade.php.

In regard to downgrading. The simplest way would be to make a data dump of your forum before upgrading and then reinstalling the old version. You would want to completely start over like it is a new install; that means dropping the tables from the database. Then you would import your old data dump and you should be back to where you were. Though, I don't know why you would want to downgrade.
