Hi,
I'd like it if there could be a way that users could have a custom rank that they can edit themselves if their post count is over a set amount. Hope it can be incorporated.

No plans to add such a feature. If you want post-based ranks use the ranking feature for that purpose.

That is correct, the whole point of ranks is that it is something you attain or gain from an admin and not just set for yourself.

Yeah, but an even better incentive is allowing the user to choose their own rank if they reach, say 1000 posts.

On my forum we have also this rule :)
But when user reach a 1000-posts-border, he just write a PM to admin with wanted rank.
