Thus spake Ecxeleron on Fri, 21 June 2002 07:19 | I have moderator abiliyties, but in the index it won't say that I'm the moderator
|
U have to edit ur special tag, as this is the one that entitles u to something. Go search ur username with the usermanager in the admin control panel and change the settings the way u want them to be.
bye
Ken

Strange. I'm both admin and moderator on the rokop-security forum and there it works fine. Maybe it has to do with ur setting of how many mods are being displayed? Default is set to 2 but u can change it to a higher number. Same is with my testserver.
This setting is on the global settings page of the admin controlpanel and hides under
Quote: | # Of Moderators To Show:
Up to how many moderators per forum to show on the front page.

well, I ran the upgrade script with the files unlocked, and it said:
Beginning the file upgrade process
Couldn't open /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/ecxeleron.com/httpdocs/f/forum/images/tableHeade rbg.gif for write
That was a custom made file that I made, and it wants to overwrite it?
There are more images that I changed, and whenever I lock/unlock the files it says there's an error about each of the files

Thus murmurred Ecxeleron in his sleep on Sun, 23 June 2002 03:14 | [complaint snipped]
Have ALL the images in
server root/styles/style_name/
Have the templates "style_name" in
server root/styles/style_name/templates
and make the styles folder unlocked perminantly so the images are easy to replace with cusomised ones.
make every version from now compatible with this, and there will be no confustion. It will be easy to share styles because they will come with their oen templates. If a new verion of fud needs something extra in the templates, the upgrade script will tell you where what has to go, and the user will add that manualy.
| I find it very unproductive to spam the forum with messages instead of giving some useful information first. So u seem to have a problem. Well, neither prottoss nor myself haven't seen it in the wild so far. So wouldn't it be interesting to learn about ur environment? This means server, php, sql, operating system and all version numbers. Next important thing would be the output of phpinfo() (which u shouldn't make public because it may expose u to security risks)
Next important step is, who's owning files and dirs and what access rights do they currently have. But as long as u don't provide informations about ur settings no one will be able to help u.
bye Ken

Well, don't have time to learn php/sql, I study full time. As for the version numbers - duh!
