Argh!
It seems I have made everything ok... but at last, when everything is ok, step 5 fails on
Failed Creating: /var/www/forumdata/theme/default/help
And I can't access the index.php of the forum's root dir...
http://82.88.23.3/forumdata/

Yes, I've chmod-ed every dir of the forum...

Any suggestion?? It give me not any error info...

Thanks Nico

Does the /var/www/forumdata/theme/default/ directory exist? If so what are its permissions?

NOW the whole forum works great on my home/testing LAMP server.
So I installed it on my website www.cornodicavento.com
It took a while, 'cause there were strange errors with the direcories...
I had to set them whith ../ linking, not fixed paths on the server.
It's a linux hosting on aruba.it, and I don't know the dir tree.
So it seemd to have installed fine using
../forum as the root browsable dir
../forumdata as the data dir
http://www.cornodicavento.com/home/forum as the reference for the user
having the install.php script in http://www.cornodicavento.com/home/foruminstall/install.php

It works fine, whith login, posting, private messaging, etc... but the administrator tools.
When I try to access the control panel of the admin I have this error:

Warning: main(./GLOBALS.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /web/htdocs/www.cornodicavento.com/home/home/forum/adm/admapprove_avatar.ph p on line 14

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required './GLOBALS.php' (include_path='.:/php/lib/php/') in /web/htdocs/www.cornodicavento.com/home/home/forum/adm/admapprove_avatar.ph p on line 14

I can't understan why it points to ../home/home/forum... while the correct dir is ../home/forum... where the GLOBAL.php actually is.

Where can I modify those settings??

Thanks Nico

The adm/ directory should have a symlink to GLOBALS.php in it. it looks like it does not, hence the error message that you are seeing.
