We use FUDForums for the members of our non-profit professional association to communicate with each other.

For all of our other web-based needs, we use Affiniscape - a packaged web solutions for organizations like ours. We switched to Affiniscape last Fall. ...

When a member receives an email alerting him/her that someone has posted a reply to their earlier post, the link in the email no longer takes them directly to the response unless they are already logged into the Forum. Previously, if they are not already logged on the to Forum, the link would take them to a sign-in page, and then directly to the new post. Now it takes them to an error message and then, when they do log on, to the Forum Home, rather than to the specific post.

We think there is a "break" in the communication between the Forum and the Affiniscape system, but we don't know how to begin investigating this. Please help.

Ilia, in regards to this issue, I have spoken with Marc and Affinsicape and this is what he recommends for making this work:

We an option available which requires some extra programming on for ProHost:

1. Make the redirection URL go to http://www.qrca.org/login.cfm and add a URL query parameter named ?callingpage? with the value of the fully qualified URL to the destination forum message.
Example: ?http://www.qrca.org/login.cfm?callingpage=http://forum.qrca.org/index.php? t=rview&goto=20422? < http://www.qrca.org/login.cfm?callingpage=http://forum.qrca.org/index.php?t =rview&goto=20422?> < http://www.qrca.org/login.cfm?callingpage=http://forum.qrca.org/index.php?t =rview&goto=20422?>

2. Allow the page of http://www.qrca.org/login.cfm to be accepted as a referrer.

Our system will be able to have the member go through the login process on 24/7 then immediately forward them to the forum message.

---I hope this makes some sense to you. Please keep us posted on the status of this issue. Thanks!

Nicki - I don't see any reply from Ilia to this, but he did reply to my other inquiry about backups. Is it possible that he contacted you directly? I heard from Dorrie that the problem has still not been fixed ... that's why I ask.

Jeff, not sure about this issue yet. I've sent this message to Ilia via his direct email as well as on here...Haven't heard back. Marc at Affiniscape is more than willing to speak with him on the phone to get this communication issue working again. I hope to get the fix started sooner rather than later.
