non-standard postgres port [message #39065]

Hi all, I am using a postgres server on a non-standard port (not the default of 5432) and can't figure out how to install FUDforum.
I go to the install.php page, fill out step 1, then step 2 stops me cold.

I've tried localhost:5434, <machine_name>:5434, putting http:// in front of it all, etc.
Is there something I'm missing?

What back-end to PostgreSQL are you using, PDO_PGSQL or pgsql?

php was compiled with:
'--with-pgsql=/opt'

I've used this instance of php to connect to the PG database in the past, but always through homemade scripts where I can type the connection string directly (e.g., pg_pconnect("host=localhost port=5434, ...").

For the hostname put the following value:

hostname port=5434
