I am upgrading from 1.98 to 2.2.4RC3.
I get the following error
Couldn't open
/home/acct351/public_html/fudforum/br/images/smiley_icons/icon_uhoh.gif for write
At the Temporarily offline page when I try to log in as the admin, I get
Warning: Failed opening '/home/acct351/public_html/fudforum/nb/include/login.inc' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/acct351/public_html/fudforum/nb/include/core.inc on line 46

Make sure that upgrade script can write to
/home/acct351/public_html/fudforum/br/images/smiley_icons/icon_uhoh.gif
and re-run it.

Is this the error you get after running the upgrade script for the 2nd tim, this time without any error messages?

hmmmm....now it is installed but now when I click on a link I get
something like:

when I go into the CP I get lots of error lines all with the core.inc file.
the core.inc seems to the problem
