I've noticed that the registration in FUD 1.2.8 requires the person registering to submit something in the name field even though (as far as I can tell) a user's name doesn't seem to appear anywhere in the public part of the forums, even on the user's info page. The only place I can seem to find it is in the User Admin section and it doesn't seem to have much relevance there.

Is there a way to make the user's name in the registration optional rather than required?

Thanks in advance. Smile

you can modify the source if you want to make the name field optional. Normally the field is for admin reference only.

Thanks. It was pretty easy to find the two areas of the register.php file to alter, I just wanted to be sure that making it optional wouldn't cause problems elsewhere.
