The timezone is always shown as GMT+1. I used to play with different options in "Global Configuration", but I still can't specify EDT timezone. I use Sparc/Solaris-8 OS.
Any help will be very appreciated.

Is there anyway you could point me to a doc that would let me see which timezones are supported on Solaris?
Unfortunately I have not access to a Solaris box myself, so I cannot test this for myself.

Could you tell me which timezones have you tried to use?
Also, please keep in mind that you'll also need to change your personal timezone in your account's settings. The timezone specified in the admin control panel only applies to anonymous users or becomes the default timezone for new registrants to the forum.

I saw the tree, it appears to support majority of the timestamps support by Linux and FreeBSD. Could you please tell me which timezones you've tried and whether or not you modified your own forum account to reflect these changes in timezones.

I just changed the "$SERVER_TZ" entry in the GLOBALS.php file to "US/Eastern" and it seems to be all right now.

When I used to try different "United States/..." entries from the html form, like "New York .." even "Los Angeles" etc I was getting GMT+1 timezone in all outgoing emails.

Ah, those timezones are probably not supported by your OS, which is why they did not work. Since there are usually several alternatives to popular timezones like EST a little testing usually can solve the problem.

Yep, but there're no options like EST or EST5EDT in the web interface. What I finally did was a link from /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/America/New_York to ../EST5EDT and the "United States/NewYork..." timezone started to work.
BTW. Is there an option to disable timezone at all, so that it will use local timezone only?

No there is no such option, however I will add it and make it the default.

It will be nice to have the option, thanks.
