I'm not sure if this is a function already but it could be useful to allow users to have the forum email them the unread posts in their subscribed groups at some interval?

Is subscribing just a way to sort through a many grouped forum or does it already support some reporting features?

When someone makes a post in a thread you are subscribed to, you will recieve an email notification with a URL to that post.

If you are subscribed to a forum, everytime there is a new topic created in that forum you will also recieve an email notification.

I think he meant more of a daily digest or something... Perhaps to cut down on the number of email notifications a person gets.

IMO, that's more of a mailing-list type functionality, I don't know if it's so good for FUD to tackle that.

Well we already limit the number of emails you would get. For example you will not recieve notifications about new messages if at the time of the post you already have unread messages in a thread. In a weeks time you will get another email if someone posts a message in that thread.

So, there is no chance of you getting mail swamped by message notifications.
