I manage to get through all five steps, but now I get a "blank" page with no errors.

E.G. I go to the host://here.is.my.fudforum.root/index.php and see

lots of white page (no text, errors, etc).

Any ideas?

Thomas

Here is the HTML generated from initial page:

Does your PHP report errors, maybe it logs them to a file instead of writing them to screeen?

I don't know. I compiled it with pretty much defaults....

Thomas

What would the logfile be? Or is it in syslog? I looked in my "messages" file no signs of php errors. E.G. where is the default place php logs?

Check your phpinfo() it'll have details pertaining to the php configuration.
