I've noted that "time to generate this page" information is given up to the fifteenth decimal of a second, which is a femtosecond. Knowing that electrons travel et best at light speed 3.10E8 m/s, it means that the precision that this number bears is equal to the time needed for an electron to span the width of a single Pentium-IV trace, which is, lots of orders of magnitude less than what is need to even change a single bit's state or perform the simplest of instructions.

Hence, where in hell does this decimals comes from ?

Supplemental trick question : what is the actual precision that this number could afford ? Sorry, correct answers (if any can be found with enough confidence), do not gain free tickets or overnight penis enlargment.

The time taken is calculated in seconds & microsecons, each second == 1,000,000 microseconds. The precision of the number has to do with the number of decimal points your PHP is configured to support.
