Maybe this is already possible and I just don't know it, but one of the things that my users have asked for is an additional special field (version number in this case) when creating/posting a message. I'm using the forum as a kind of knowledge base, and so being able to include the version number in a seperate field would make searching and sorting a whole lot nicer. Is this possible? Already in? Or is it something that could be easily added?

There is no such feature, if you want it you will need to modify the source code to support it.

It is not terribly complex, but you will need to modify at least 2 files in addition to altering the SQL table structure to make this work.
