Hi, all

At one wonderfull day all custom avatars are losted.
Before this day all avatars was visible.

In folder "\images\custom_avatars\" all images exist.

But in on all forums pages any avatars visible like nonexisting or corrupted images (empty rectangle with red cross)

I try delete and then add new my own avatar
Precedure was complete without any errors
But avatar on forum pages was not changed (like corrupted image)

In MySQL table AVATAR is empty

The avatar table would be empty because it is there only to store built-in avatars avaliable to all users and not personal avatars each user uploads. It could be browser + caching issue since some browser tend to dislike images without an extension.

this is not browser problem....

If you have a lot of time, Ilia, please register on my forum and tomorow I give to you admin permissions.

Accessing the image (http://linuxportal.ru/forums/images/custom_avatars/28) I got a 404 error. This is most likely due to messed up permissions on the directory, make sure that the directory (images & custom_avatars) and all the files in it are readable by the webserver.

Permissions for all needed images and folders are correct

all uploaded images saved without extensions
This is normally?

Field "avatar_loc" in table "users" for all users (include users with custom avatars) equivalent NULL

I manually, via "admin file manager", rename my uploaded avatar from name "5" to name "5.gif" and set field "avatar_loc" for my to "images/custom_avatars/5.gif"

After this operation my avatar was displayed on forum correctly

Lack of extension should not be a problem to any modern a browser, the 'real' problem is that the avatar URLs all result in a 404 (file not found) message. You need to see what is the cause of this, I doubt it is anything forum related.

Sorry, but lack of extension IS a problem to my Mozilla 1.4 RC1 and IExplorer 6.0.sp2!
Also I can see extensions even here, on this Support Forum. For example this one is a ".gif":

I suppose, belmax has right and lack of extension was a bug in 2.3.8. Can you confirm my opinion?
