hi,

i´ve just installed the forum. works great, but

it is really importand that it would be possible to use a 3-letter username, becauser almost the half of the users, that are supposed to use the forum, do have a 3-letter nickname, or even a 2-letter nickname.
like "kab" "gap" "gen" "ht" "xt"...

is it possible to use a 3-letter nick?

thanks

gen

Well, if you want shorter usernames then you need to modify register.php.t's form checking code and set the username length limit to a smaller value.

i?ve modified two files. ohne "register.php.t" in "[serverroot]/scr/" and another "register.php.t" in "[dataroot]/scr/".

i have changed the "<4" to "<2", but it still does not work.

/* Check login length */
if( !$user_id && strlen($GLOBALS['HTTP_POST_VARS']['reg_login']) < 2 ) {...

can you give me a hint, what i have to change, please?

thanks

You've changed the correct file, but you've forgotten to rebuild the theme after the change, so the changes you've made did not take effect.
