We been using the mailing list gateway feature for a while. When users include lots of smileys in their messages and use them to write a 'rebus' message (example: http://percebu.baja.net/fud/index.php?t=tree&th=148), when the messages appear on the mailing list they are almost unreadable without the smileys (we have lots of custom ones). I was wondering if when messages are sent to the mailing list, the smileys could be replaced by their ALT tag text instead of just blank space? It would make these messages a lot more readable in plain ASCII on the mailing list.

Thanks.

Actually when converting messages to plain text (done before posting to mailing list) the smilies should be replaced with their corresponding codes that are originally used to insert the smilies into the message.

Fixed in CVS.

I noticed that RC2 becames RC3 Smile This means that this fix is already in that RC?

By the way, when "Quoting" I noticed that the Subject Title becames only "Re:" but the original Subject Title disapears.

In version 2.3.7 this doesn't happens Very Happy

And you included that last Mail List bug solved? Only to be assured Very Happy

About the "Re:" problem. I'm using Phoenix (a shorter Mozilla Clone) under Windoze ME ;(

Altough this windoze version gave me many problems already, this is still strange because it won't happen with version 2.3.7 wich I have installed at http://care2x.com/forum/ It puzzles me Question

I am also using Phoenix browser, however I am using it under linux and as you can see it has no such problem. Give that I see this only happening to you, I am guessing this has to do with the browser 'remembering' the value of the title field and automatically inserting it there.

And a tiny little question more.

Since I had 2.3.7 running shall I use "2.3.8RC3 Upgrade" or shall I use "2.3.8RC3 Full" to update my system Smile

Well! It doesn't really matter. It's not a "Life & Death" problem so it's better to forget it Very Happy

I may issue it as a bug at Phoenix Bugtracker Rolling Eyes
