I have been using Yahoo Groups for my discussions with about 300 members.

I am now looking to get rid of Yahhoo groups as there are to many adverts and a number of other problems.

I tried PHPBB2, which is great, although I would loose the ability for people to post a message from their email.

IN COMES FUDforum - I think.....

How does the mailing feature work? Can people post new topics in certain categories of the fourm?

Is there a daily digest feature? Any ideas where I can get more information about this?

Many thanks for your help.

Basically you set up a utility, which makes the forum get the messages arriving to a certain e-mail addressed piped to it, allowing you to import them into the forum context. You can also allow people to reply to these messages, in which case messages posted to the forum will go out to the specified address.
You will need to create a new forum (myabe have all e-mail forums inside 1 category?) for each mailing list .
ATM there is no digest feature.
