I guess I can change of the default size, colour, etc of the posting text, without users having to keep using the format bar. I have a couple of sight impaired users and this would be helpful.
Is it in css template ..just need the right bit

All the font sizes & colors are defined inside forum.css.tmpl
.GenText & text styles in particular.

After making the changes, did you recompile theme (option on the theme manager)? Until you do that your changes will no go into effect.

GenText class has a setting:
color: #000000;
try changing it to some like #ff0000 (red) you should see the difference right away.
