PHP is very easy to code in, but it's hard to code securely in.
Largely this is due to historical decisions made in developing PHP
when security wasn't a major concern. Modern web frameworks tend to
automatically protect against a whole host of vulnerabilities from sql
injection to XSS but the core PHP languages doesn't have those
advantages.
