Hello,

A few questions...

  1. Is it possible to import 2.3.7 data dump into most recent release?? If not are there converters to do it?
  2. Does the data dump contain all the necessary group settings etc? I'm in the process of migration to a new server, currently we're trying to move 2.3.7 to a new server and I noticed that one forum which was previously locked from anonymous users (visible but not readable) is now accessible. This bothers me, we've lots of closed forums and if the permissions got mingled then it could lead to lotsa troubles. We simply copied the files, cloned the mysql database, recreated mysql user and changed forum config accordingly (main forum dir changed, I updated it in globals.php)
  3. Are there 'old' templates included? I really prefer the old, "less cluttered" layout. And my users are stiff conservatist also Very Happy
  4. Does the forum support (recognize!) https connections? I implemented that in 2.3.7 not so long ago after some lil help from Illia and would not like to have to implement it again Very Happy By recognize I mean detecting that user connects thru https and change all links accordingly, not only setting the whole forum to https in config and tell users "https or DIE" Wink

Seeing there are some weird problems occuring, solution #1 is the most tempting way, but the old templates are essential. And I also have to be sure that all my group permissions and users are left intact, without even a slight glitch...

greetz,

PS: Does the "inquire moderator for joining a closed user group functionality" have been added? If not, I'd like to code it in, given Illia's guidance... We have talked about it before, but Illia seems reluctant to implement it. But, he said that there are some fundaments in the base code for it...
