I noticed this. Also, when the string is translated back to the "original" rudeWord value, it is converted to the value of the first rudeWord in your list that uses the same replacement string.

One workaround to avoid offending your viewers is to use the same replacement string for all of your rudeWords (I was using the code :xxx: to show a smiley - index.php?t=getfile&id=2537&private=0

) and then put a string that's not likely to be used that is not totally offensive as the first word to be replaced (i.e., "unprintable").
