OKs i am having the same problem. I cannot change the installer.php as it miscalculates the checksum and stops. System Info is given below, as printed by the installer script

Server API Apache 2.0 Handler
PHP Version 5.2.5
PHP API 20041225
PHP Extension 20060613
Zend Extension 220060519
Debug Build no
Thread Safety enabled
Zend Memory Manager enabled
IPv6 Support enabled
Registered PHP Streams php, file, data, http, ftp, compress.zlib
Registered Stream Socket Transports tcp, udp

MySQL Support enabled
Active Persistent Links 0
Active Links 0
Client API version 5.0.45

Any help ?
