Hello,

just tried the brand new 2.5. It copies itselves to the _save
variant and creates the directory but nothing else happens.

Seems to call itselves instead of install_save:
<form name="install" action="<?php echo basename(__FILE__) . '?' . rand(); ?>" method="post">
