When I open the search dialog in the fud.prohost.org support forum, enter for example "notification", and click search, nothing happens, the browser hangs, no response is send.

It does not 'hang' it simply takes a long time to search for this entry.

Ok, but it takes more than 5 minutes, and after this time my brower gave up on waiting for a reply. Since the search is implemented via an index it is hard to understand why it takes that long. However, lately things seem to be sluggish, often I see rather large times of several seconds in the "Total time taken to generate the page" footer.

Because there is A LOT of data, even with an index it takes a long time to retrieve and sort it all.

I haven't noticed any slowdowns in the overall forum operation.
