Are the newsgroup messages saved in the database, or just in the forumdata/message/ folder? I know there are big files in this folder have the content of the messages, but there is no definite demarcation like line break between the messages.

So how the fudforum split the messages into individual one?

The message meta-data is stored in the database, while the bodies of all messages are stored inside the messages/ directory.
