ts_query supports whatever language you have on your forum, has been standard since 8.4 (IIRC), and is fast.

(I'm also having problems "rebuilding the search index" due to the migration, but that's another issue.)

I think it would be a plus to have this - mysql has similar functions, "full text search" or such.

Sounds interesting. However, it will probably only work when messages are stored inside the database (possible with FUDforum, but the default is files).

How difficult would it be to implement ts_query and full text search?
Where can we find examples/ documentation?

That's a good point, hadn't thought of the messages in files not db. If this was implemented, it would have to have to have an indirect link that points to the wanted file(s). Or something Wink. Probably better to leave it as-is for now, and maybe keep it as a third-party plugin idea instead, for now.
