Warning
This release contains a bugged upgrade.php, please download version 3.4.0.1

FUDforum 3.0.4 is now available for download.

The changes since the last RC release are mostly bug-fixes.

We would like to remember you that this is the terminal release of the 3.0 series. Users on older releases will have to upgrade to 3.0.4 before they will be allowed to upgrade to subsequent releases.

Details are available on our Wiki at the page regarding FUDforum 3.0.4.

Enjoy!

First all of, thanks for the release!! Good Job to everyone involved.

Secondly, we just worked a lot to get a theme setup in the 3.0.3 version.
We are happy with the theme and the 3.0.3 version, however, considering that 3.0.4 will be the last in the "3" series, I was suggesting to the forum admin to upgrade to 3.0.4 series to be "4" ready for the future....when ever that time may come.....but before that can you please confirm the following:

We have edited the drawmsg, drawpmsg for our theme based on user_left.
We have also edited draw_forum_list.tmpl, thread.html from the default folder.

Can we simply take the files we have edited and simply replace the stock 3.0.4 files with our 3.0.3 template files that we have changed?
I do see that a new karma feature is available...aside from that will there be any issues?

Dennis

As far as I know adding the karma is the only thing required to properly port a 3.0.3 theme to 3.0.4

There are requests for related problems somewhere in the help section (too tired to search, sorry!), I am sure you can update your theme in about 5 minutes with the help of such posts.

I was suggesting to the forum admin to upgrade to 3.0.4 series to be "4"....

As already stated, the next release will be 4.0.0 because the code needs some major overhaul.

3.0.4 is the last release of the 3.x series (unless there is some security breaking bug to be fixed, quite obviously).

Hi - Since upgrading, my users are reporting they cannot edit their own posts in forums if it isn't their latest post in the forum.

For example, many post some information in the first post of a thread. As the day goes on, they add additional posts, and at the same time edit the first post to include all details for that day in one post. If they try to edit a previous post, they are only allowed to edit the most recent post in the thread from them and not the first one.

This behavior started last week when I upgraded to 3.0.4. Any ideas?

Thank you.

There is a new setting for this in the Global Setings Manager:

Allow editing after reply

If enabled, users will be able to edit their own posts, even after someone replied to it. Disable to prevent users from changing questions that are already answered.

I recommend setting a time limit for editing own posts to prevent self destruction of useful information. I've seen good people lose their composure and wipe out incredibly helpful collections of posts.

Edit Time Limit (minutes): This sets the length of time a message can be edited before message editing is disabled.

That's already part of the software, the option above allows users to edit ANY post, not just the last.

Sorry about my delayed reply, but I was suggesting what settings moachist should configure. ^_^ I pulled that directly from the admin interface.

I've reviewed the MySQL master/slave code I contributed in 3.0.2 and at first glance it all looks good. I'll be upgrading our forum to 3.0.4 in a couple of months, so I'll re-check everything and contribute patches as needed.

Nice work!

Hi -- I am "eclipsewebmaster" and I'd like to submit a patch for the MySQL slave, but it appears my account has been banned for some reason. Can someone check?
