I seem to have broken or accidentally removed the function that makes Internet Explorer read the menu icons as .gif files instead of .png. Can someone tell me where it is located?

Ok I found the problem. The .gif versions of my icons weren't actually .gif's. I had somehow managed to have .png's masquerading as gifs. When I replaced them with actual gif's, they worked again.
