Hi,

The final version of FUDforum 2.8.1 is now available and ready for you to download. Besides the impressive array of new features introduced with the first RC release, this release features:

* Better seed data for newly installed forums;
* Two new experimental themes, user_info_left and user_info_right;
* Context sensitive help for all Admin Control Panel pages;
* Ability to skip search index data when backing-up or restoring a forum;
* An LDAP authentication plug-in;
* PostgresQL and SQLite fixes;
* Minor UTF-8 and E-mail enhancements; and
* Various other small usability fixes.

We recently also introduced FUDforum2Go, a pre-installed, self-contained and compact version of FUDforum that can run from a USB stick or CD-Rom. More information about this exciting new addition is available at http://fudforum.org/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=118447

Also note that this is the last release that will support both PHP4 and PHP5. All future releases will only support PHP5 and higher versions.

The server was moved to a new host and everything is not yet sorted out. I trust it will be fixed soon.

I guess we can add comments, it will make editing easier. On the downside, it will produce larger pages, consume more bandwidth and make the forum slower.
