Ok,

I have had FudForum up for at least a year now. Recently I upgraded to version 1.7.4 of XAMPP and since then I am unable to open anything to do with my forum. When I go to view the folder that has the forum, I get "The page cannot be displayed". I have checked that access to the folder etc is allowed by copying an image into that folder and am able to access it.

I really don't know what to do right now, and don't want to loose my years worth of forum.

Help?

Check for errors in Apache's error.log file.
The path is something like c:\xampp\apache\logs\error.log

Now I did have a problem with MYSQL going down, I preserved my databases and re-installed. Is this a username/password issue into MYSQL? How can I get back into fudforum and ensure that the database, username, and password are correct for MYSQL??

Yes, FUDforum cannot connect to the database. Please check if your MySQL datababase, userid and password matches your DB parameters in include/GLOBALS.php.

Ok, wooo Hooo! Got it back up! Thank you so much! Now... What if I want to duplicate that forum, and move it to another directory, and create another forum similar? Where can I change all the path information and DB information to do this? (Is that the GLOBALS section? Or is it not possible?)

Thanks,

The first step is obviously to take a backup (files & DB). Copy all the files and fix-up your paths in the GLOBALS.php. When done, run a consistency check.

Now I am getting this when I try to access the forum externally:

My guess, you need to fix your cookie settings in GLOBALS.php.

If not, check your SQL error log (.../errors/sql_errors) and post the last entry here.

Ok, now I have an even stranger problem. I have 2 forums up, one displays correctly (both SEPERATE INSTALLATIONS) the one that has been up for a year is now unable to view the messages that are in the topic, but if I click on the user, view all the messages they have ever entered, then I can see the messages. If I try to create a new topic or message I get the following error in Error Log:

Now, I have checked in my DB and there is no FUD30.FL14 so, why would it all of a sudden be looking for thi sparticular section?

The other problem I have is my other forum displays, it just won't show any icons for some reason.

FUDforum 3.0.0 is desupported. You need to upgrade prodieselperformance.com or consider commercial support.

Tenant-trash.com is not rendering images because of the iframe with redirect. This is not a FUDforum problem but a problem with how you've set it up.

Trying to figure out how to add that to the PHP file and where?. With the 2nd forum, what would I have done wrong that is forcing it not to show icons? It did at one point, then stopped. Any idea how to fix?

Use a text editor like Notepad++.
Find the lines prefixed with a minus (-) and replace them with lines that start with a (+).
When done run the consistency checker - it should go through this time and your forum should be OK.
