Have a user whose Name and Login Name field are the same, but his Alias is different. On about 5 occasions in the last two months, his Alias has automatically changed to be the same as his name/login name. I change it back for him, and it lasts for a while before auto changing back again. No record of that change shows up in the Action Log.

PHP 5.3.5
Mysql 5.5.8

Users can change their own aliases (if enabled in the Global Settings Manager).
It's probably not as automatic as you may think.

Unfortunately not, you'll have to add one line of code.
