I've done some experimenting with the fonts, and have decided on the following style for the forum:
Tahoma, Verdana, Myriad Web, Syntax, sans-serif;
I believe Tahoma is a lot more pleasant on the eye then Verdana, it is also a little easier to read when the font is small or a person has a large monitor.

Is that still the case? You may have cached the page, or looked at the forum during a mid-update, heh.
If you still see the times font, please tell me, which page, it could be that somewhere the text style is hard coded.
